Adam Healey – Entrepreneur and Start-Up Mentor

Adam Healey is a serial entrepreneur who has launched multiple ventures across varying industries over his 27-year career. His latest company, Novela Company Inc., aims to bring innovation to the $57 billion wedding planning market. Mr. Healey's professional journey began in 1997 as a financial analyst at the investment bank Salomon Smith Barney. Just a year later, he co-founded his first startup, Samba Digital Media, where he served as CEO. An early interest in the travel sector led him to briefly consult and launch Hotelicopter, a hotel search engine, in 2006. The University of Virginia alumnus has maintained close ties to his alma mater over the years. From 2013-2016 he taught entrepreneurship courses at UVA's McIntire School of Commerce. He is also a member of the school's prestigious Raven Society honorary organization and was named one of the Top 50 Entrepreneurs in Virginia by the Virginia Venture Partners association. In 2019, Mr. Healey dabbled in event production as the executive producer for The Festy, a music festival held in Charlottesville. His other entrepreneurial endeavors include serving as CEO of the startup B&B, which he founded. With Novela Company, founded in 2022, Mr. Healey is applying his diverse professional experiences to modernize the wedding industry. The firm has developed a software platform that powers a referral network connecting couples with vendors across all categories of wedding services. Drawing inspiration from the streamlined experience of booking travel, Mr. Healey aims to bring similar efficiency and ease to the complex process of planning and coordinating a wedding through Novela's platform. Over his career, Mr. Healey has started six companies spanning North America, Europe and Asia. Cumulatively he has raised over $25 million in funding across these various ventures. His two most recent startups prior to Novela were acquired by leaders in their respective industries. Mr. Healey holds a bachelor's degree in commerce and an MBA from the University of Virginia. When not working on his latest entrepreneurial pursuit, he enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and kiteboarding as well as tennis and cooking.
